Research

The Research Training Group is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). In 14 different projects we aim to gain a deeper understanding of collective phenomena and quantum many-body effects in extended condensed matter systems.

One of the main goals of this program is for doctoral students to learn to apply two different specialized methods.

Open Positions

We offer a stimulating environment to pursue research projects focused on the development of many-body methods and their synergetic application to functional materials and nanoelectronics. The expertise of the participating researchers covers

- ab-initio methods
- numerical many-body methods
- non-equilibrium techniques
- renormalization group methods
- and quantum information based approaches

We offer 3-year doctoral research positions (75% TV-L E13) with open starting times.

Lectures

Within the Research Training Group, lectures and seminars are offered to advanced master's students and doctoral researchers. They are categorized in the more general fields of "Basics" and "Phenomena" as well as the more specialized fields of "Computational Methods" and "Field Theory and Renormalization Group Methods".
