# Theoretical Solid State Physics

## Lecture details

This lecture will be given by Professor Pavarini.

**Learning goal:**

The aim of the course is to provide a thorough introduction to the theory of crystalline materials. The goal is threefold:

- elucidate the main theoretical concepts
- introduce computational methods used to study solids
- illustrate important properties of solids and provide concrete examples

Homework will be assigned each Monday and due following Monday. Exercise sheets will be uploaded to the l2p page. Solutions of the exercises will be discussed during the exercise classes on Mondays. Students will be required to master at least 50% of the homework exercises to participate in the final oral examination.
